Statement by Transcon Electronic Systems on the allegations against Mr. Mazanek in Senegal

Transcon Electronic Systems strongly objects to the unjustified allegations made against Mr Mazanek in Senegal. These charges relate to alleged tax evasion and non-payment of duties, even though the entire project in which we are involved has a registered government exemption from general duties, taxes and fees in Senegal.

It is important to emphasize that the project is paid for by the Czech Export Bank, which together with the Czech and Senegalese authorities, i.e. the Ministries of Finance and Customs, also audits all financial transactions related to the project. In a legal context, the Senegalese Ministry of Finance and even the customs office itself would have to sit in the dock along with Transcon.

A poor understanding of the situation on the part of the Senegalese customs office led to the hasty and unjustified detention of Mr Mazánek, which was accompanied by a public lynching of him and our company in the press. We consider this incident to be a serious damage to our reputation and integrity.

The entire case is being intensively handled in cooperation with a renowned law firm, Czech financial institutions and the Czech Foreign Ministry. Our goal is to achieve a quick and complete rehabilitation of both Transcon Electronic Systems and Mr. Mazánek.
